Good Holiday

We visited Potters Leisure for the second time and as usual every thing was spot on. Food Entertainment and hospitality made our stay perfect.

We have been once or twice a year for, at least, the last fourteen years.Although we come primarily for the bowls breaks which are well organised and a great fun way to enjoy the company of our own group and other bowlers from all over the country, the high standard of service in all departments adds hugely to our enjoyment.

1st Stay

My Wife Sandra and I had a short break at Potters Leisure resort on Jan 9th to Jan 13th 2012. It was our first visit to the resort and it was in a word fantastic. We haven't had a UK holiday as such for 10years or more. So for our first attempt it was superb. I could go on forever about how good each area of the resort was top notch,so in brief it was(The staff who couldn't do enough for you Mandy in particular shone as she waited on us for the week, The quality and quantity of the food which was superb in both its taste and variety and finally the entertainment which was both highly professional and varied. Christmas Lunch 2011

My family and I a group of 8 in total enjoyed Christmas Lunch in Zest. I would like to say how impressed we were with the service of the staff, in particular our young waiter Robert.The room was tatefully decorated to a very high standard. We'll be back

This was the first time to Potters for me and my husband - we went as a family group of 12 with ages ranging from early 20s to late 80s - some who had been before. We didnt know what to expect but 'wow'! We stayed for 3 nights but I did not want to leave! The staff were exceptional. We felt they really cared. We had a standard chalet, a minutes walk from the complex. It was warm, clean and what it didnt have that we needed was provided on request The daily entertainment was spread well so you could make good choices about what to do - we tried everything from napkin folding through to pistol and rifle shooting. The guy who does the shooting and archery was very good and very knowledgeable. We were so busy we never even got to the swimming pool. My nan used her wheelchair most of the weekend and this was not a problem - everywhere is very accessible. Hubby and I cant wait to return.

the best posssible place ot take a break in the UK more to offer than any resort of know in the UK. ALL staff from the directors down to cleaning staff offer a most welcoming warm greeting ,always there on hand to help and chat with you . excellent food on offer and events to fill the day from quizzes to bowls,pool,darts plus many many more.would recommend this resort to friends and visit myself at least four times a year.

I first travelled to Potters by train known as the Holiday camp special from London to Hopton On Sea Station and Great Yarmouth. The local young lads transported our luggage in their hand carts to our camp, charge 6 pence. Our next form of travel was on motorbike and now by car. The anniversary of 3 Sept 1939 was a visit to Gt Yarmouth for a midnight theatre show, most holiday camps took part. Also the Christmas Annual Re Union at The Albert hall, London. Yet again we all had a fantastic time! This time there were 10 of us, and every single person had a wonderful time. The chalet was spotless, beds very comfortable (not that we saw much of them!) and the food and entertainment was brilliant! As someone else has said, couldn't fault any of it! Back again in November for the Adult comedy weekend!

We were at Potter's until this morning enjoying the bowling competition run by Tony Cuthbert. One of our friends felt ill and saw a doctor but was unable to get his prescription as the dispencery was closed. Bridget our waitress for table 71 took our friend into Lowestoft Thursday evening after her shift so he could get his medication and brought him back to Potters. What a lovely thing to do, not many people would help in this way. We were all very impressed with Bridget and thought we would let you know of her kindness. Many thanks Irene Seabrook.

The accomodation is first class, as is the food and the entertainment is as good as you would find in the Westend. I was looking for an email address so I could extend my thanks once again. 2nd May was the 2nd time we attended Potters to see Joe McElderry perform and it was even better than the first. We stayed onsite this time. The event was amazing value for money, a 5 course meal, midnight snack, cooked breakfast, a show and overnight accommodation in the bunglaows for just £89! All of your staff are an absolute pleasure and a credit to you, but we would like to say a very special thank you to our waiter Simon. Nothing was too much trouble, including helping one of our group with the wifi on a mobile phone. We'll be back Potters (even quicker if you book Joe again!) It was a very special birthday!

Fantastic week. Staff very friendly, approachable and nothing was ever too much. Ben in restaurant very helpful and friendly. Entertainment staff are very proffesional and outshone Wagner who was there on Wednesday night. Very safe enviroment for the children, have never felt so comfortable giving my children the freedom to explore and to go to activities on their own, which enabled me to attend various activities on my own, as a single mother it not only gave the children the freedom to try different activities along with myself being able to relax and try other activities. Mark Brewer & Richard Beare are excellent, Jamie very funny and Buzz brilliant. Well done Potters myself and my children will be returning for a further visit next year.

I would Love to go again

I am a fourteen year old female and this weekend was my first time at potters leisure resort. i went on friday afternoon with my best friend and her parents. I thought the entertainment was amazing (stacey solomon, aidan davis etc) and i would love to go again. the accomodation was brilliant and staff were very helpful and a great laugh, for example the activity team. they made it great fun and i would reccomend this place to everyone.

Two very pleasant weekends husband and I have just spent at Potters beginning of March 2011 and April.Lovely warm bungalow+ each time and super food and choice.Atlas Theatre a bit too loud for us but otherwise very entertaining.We have been abroad many times and would like to try Cyprus with the Potters.Must save hard for that one. Recently returned home from our 5th Potters Break, we hadn't been for a couple of years and had kind of forgotten just how fantastic it is. All the staff were so friendly, the Shows were great and the added surprises of the Chippendoubles and Andrew Stone made them even better. The food was great (but not good for the waistline)Our Waitress Kayleigh was superb with nothing too much trouble. Brian Conley was very good. It will not be 2 years before we back again. Best weekend Ever!!

I had my first trip to Potters this weekend for the Dance & Exercise weekend. It was fantastic. The classes were brilliant and there was a great selection to choose from. The food was gorgeous and the Potters Theatre company are so very very talented. I have already recommended potters to family and friends. I'm looking forward to going back again !! :)

We came for one night stay. We have enjoyed our stay very much, and everything was fantastic we stayed in a one your Bungalow (J) very nice and spacious. It suits us very well. We would like to ask if there is any chance to include The Tribute of the King of Rock and Roll " ELVIS " We understand that your Brochure of this Year 2011 has already schedule with all the stars. If possible sometimes next Year 2012 if there is a possibility to include The Tribute of ELVIS in your programme that will be nice and I am sure you will get a lot of people booking more than when you include ELVIS. CANNOT RECOMMEND POTTERS HIGHLY ENOUGH

my family and i have been going to potters for the past 10 years two or three times a year.weekend breaks half term etc. we have always had a wonderful time there and the staff are so polite and helpful. the accommodation in the hotel is better than a five star hotel in any country or the west end of london. the food is always excellent with more than one can eat. the waiters are so obliging and one has the same table for the length of your stay. the entertainment if you are three to ninety three is absolutly great. there is no ageism here. everyone is welcome and is made to feel so. this entertainment goes on all day, from quizzes for the less able, and are hilarious, to full activities which i really cannot mention here. In other words we could not fit all of the activities in there were so many. even a petting zoo, now which hotel do you get that. the entertainment in the theatre is like a west end show and the children are at their own palladium and then finsh off in the theatre. We have of course mark brewer a true professional who can take an audience into the palm of his hand and have everyone laughting in one minute. i cannot praise potters enough. I also forgot to mention the fantastic swimming pool, with three pools depending on capabilities, there are sun beds massage tables jacuzzi i could go on and on. after a swim one can go for a beauty treatment in their own aphrodite salon. everything there is wonderful with all the staff fully trained and certainly know what they are doing. we as a family alway book early especially for half terms etc in fact booked for next year, plus all the weekend breaks we will attend. CANNOT RECOMMEND POTTERS HIGHLY ENOUGH

I first found out about Potters about 14 years ago after a recommendation from a relative,and I have been going at least twice a year ever since. One really fantastic show was a few years ago with a show called Vampires rock, that is one to look out for if they ever come back. I am going in march to see Frankie Vallie tribute, and again in June for a comedy weekend. i am looking forward to both shows. As well as the shows the food is excellent and the staff always helpful and fun. my sons and their family and friends are now also regulars, it is always value for money..

Potty about Potters!

As my daughter is serious about a future career in musical theatre it was suggested to me that she might like to do her work experience at Potters Holiday Resort. The reason being that they have an excellent theatre company and a fantastic theatre and, if she could be put on the stage there it would be a wonderful experience. Also, I thought we might get another opinion as to whether she has what it takes! As we don't live within daily travelling distance of Potters and my daughter, being under eighteen, needed an adult to accompany her I booked a two bedroom chalet for myself, my husband and my daughter. My aunt, cousin and her husband also came. They had holidayed here several times in the past. When we first arrived, one Monday morning in September, I was a little worried when I realised, this being term time and an adults themed break, that the guests were predominantly over sixty. The theme was a bowls event as these often take place here and are televised. Potters has and these breaks are popular. I had been informed that a bowls tournament was to be held at this time. As the week went on we found that the guests and staff were extremely friendly and there was a lot to do so everyone had a great time. My daughter was looked after by Rachel (great singer) on the entertainment's team and was involved in greeting guests, bingo, dancing etc. Mark Brewer, entertainments manager, heard her sing and was wonderful in his support of her and he changed her to evening entertainment so that she could help with sound for the shows and sing several times on the stage. The sound system, the band and the big screens and a hugely responsive audience made this a wonderful experience. The best thing about Potters in my opinion is the evening entertainment. I have been to many holiday centres and never seen anything of this standard. The theatre company are truly professional and have had Kerry Ellis (from Wicked the West End musical and to be Nancy in Oliver) and Lee Mead (Joseph) working here. The standard is brilliant. They can sing, dance and act and Mark Brewer, Buzby and Richard Beare (Brotherlees fame) are hillarious. Next best thing is the food which is of a very good quality. You are given a table for your stay which is much nicer than having to search for one. You can pre order wine and it will be waiting for you at meal times. The starter is served by your waiter for the week and then you can either choose your main course from the menu and it will be brought to you or you can go to the buffet section where there a variety of dishes are available. Some dishes are cooked while you wait, such as omelettes and you can choose your filling. A good selection of deserts are served by the waiter. Our chalet was comfortable. We had a room with two single beds, fridge, television and tea making facilities,and a large radiator. This room had a door leading to a hallway with two doors one leading to a very well equipped hotel style bathroom. The other door led to a second bedroom with two single beds, radiator, television, radiator and large skylight with remote controlled blind. It was clean and comfortable. Potters has a beauty salon which as well as styling hair does other treatments such as massage, manicures etc. My cousin was happy with her manicure. There is a nice indoor swimming pool, bowling greens both inside and out, football pitches and indoor facilities for badminton, table tennis and more. There is even a bowling alley, although you have to pay extra for this. I am told that during school holiday times there are excellent facilities for children and they have a burger bar at mealtimes. It is good that the entertainment for children lasts into the evening with them being taken for organised football, table tennis etc. The centre is very clean throughout and the grounds are attractive and in good repair. Potter's is set in pleasant grounds with lawns leading down to a decent sandy beach. There are steps to make access to the beach easy. It is easy to travel from here to Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft. There are plenty of things to do and see in the surrounding areas of Norfolk and Suffolk, such as fairs, model villages, pets corners, a zoo and beaches. And of course the Norfolk Broads! Overall we all had a great time and going to Potters has put me off going to other U.K. holiday centres, such as Pontins, as the standard is better than anywhere I've been to prior to this. However, it costs quite a lot more with child prices starting at age fifteen. There are bargains to be had but mainly in term time when the breaks are designed for adults. Children are usually accepted at these times but are not specifically catered for, as they are during school holidays. I would recommend it here for any type of holiday but, as I stated, my reason for going was for my daughter's work experience and I can't stress enough how much the entertainment staff more than fulfilled our expectations. They were wonderful in the time, advice and encouragement they gave. My thanks go to Mark Brewer, Richard Beare, Rachel, Buzby and all others on the entertainment and management team and the band, who played while she sang and publicly applauded her efforts. My daughter believes she had the best work experience ever! CYPRUS 2010

My wife and I had a fantastic time in Cyprus at The Athena Beach Hotel in Cyprus for the first time with Potters in December after having had a wonderful week before in Norfolk. We both hope to repeat the experience later this year and look forward to receiving details in the near future.

Very Close to Home Break

Just back from Motown Night. Spent a great afternoon, evening and morning with friends. Fantastic time had by all. Staff very friendly. Food excellent (As was the service received from our waiter Robert). Hope to stay for more than one night next time and try more of the facilities. We only travel 20 minutes to get here so never thought of visiting before but will definitely go again.

Fantastic!

Yet again, Potters has delivered a great weekend break for us and our parents (an early Christmas present)! Our bungalows remained warm inside despite the below freezing conditions on the outside. The evening entertainment was excellent, as was everything else we experienced - we've never seen the same show repeated in the years at Potters - there's always a hidden twist to the shows, often with extra surprises thrown in for good measure. Oh and we've already booked up again for just after New Years Eve. I guess some just can't get enough!

Warning to Future Guests

I feel I must warn future guests who intend going to Potters that you may be seriously putting yourself at risk. My wife and I have just spent our second holiday at potters and both times have put on two kilos in weight, the food and service are so good that only someone with no taste could not enjoy Potters. The staff are fantastic, and nothing is too much trouble for them. Returning again next year to put on my winter layer to keep out the cold.

Great Weekend

Spent our 1st Wedding Anniversary at Potters on 15 October 2010 (Ultimate Party weekend), had a great time, our bungalow was lovely, clean, warm, had everything we needed. The entertainment was brilliant with some unexpected surprises along the way. Would recommend it to anyone wanting a brilliant fun weekend. A WEEKEND TO REMEMBER

A GROUP OF 7 WOMEN SET OFF FROM ESSEX AND LONDON IN A 7 SEATER AND HAD A MOST FANTASTIC WEEKEND. WE HAD PREMIER DELUXE ROOMS THAT WERE KEPT PERFECT, AND THE MOST COMFORTABLE BEDS WITH LINEN AND TOWELS LIKE NEW. FOOD WAS EXCELLENT, DRINK PRICES OK. THERE ARE SO MANY ACTIVITIES GOING ON BUT MAKE SURE WHEN YOU ARRIVE YOU STOP AND LOOK AT WHAT YOU WANT TO DO, AS EVERYTHING APART FROM SWIMMING HAS TO BE BOOKED IN ADVANCE, THIS CAUSED US TO MISS OUT ON A COUPLE OF SPORTS. Absolutely brilliant

Just got back from a absolutly wonderful weekend with 6 of my work friends. Had a incredible time at Potters. did not want to leave. wish it had been a longer stay but hey maybe next time we can stay for a week. entertainment staff are fab. rooms very clean and spacious we stayed in the bungalows. food was delicious and plenty of it. Mark brewer a very funny guy. Keep up the good work and the little dude jamie very good voice and very funny too. x

Fab Break

Stayed for the 1st time on 8 October 2010, in a sml group of 6. We had a scream. Entertainment was good. Hotel rooms were spacious, clean. Food was good and plentiful, we tried the Black Rock Grill, which was good and certainly an experience to be had. Would recommend to others. Well done all the staff at Potters, who were friendly, and committed to making our stay an enjoyable one. Hope to see you all again soon.

Cannot recommend the place enough.

Just returned from another great weekend at Potters.The bungalows were nice,and the food was excellent as always.The entertainment was brilliant and althogh we had seen the potters syncranised swimming routine before, it still made us laugh,and cant wait to see it again !Danyl Johnson was really good too and we thought it was really nice of him to stay and have photos taken with the guests.The Chippendoubles were a nice suprise too,and they also mixed with the guests for the rest of the night and next day too.I would also like to mention the good sevice of all the Potters team for the helpfullness during every visit,and although we did not do any sports this weekend,would like to give the sports team a big thank you ( Ross and the rest of the team )for all the help the have given us in the past expecialy with the younger ones.We are coming again in December and cant wait.Would come every weekend if we could. Cannot recommend the place enough.

Good entertainment & value for money

We have visited Potters twice so far, another one coming up in November, and having read some of the grumpy reviews have to say we disagree. Someone mentioned 5 star and compared it to Egyt LOL, we have just returned from there and Egypt has nothing on 5 star Turkey! Potters is a family resort in England not Egypt, it caters for kids and bowls players mainly, but the evening entertainment is very good, we spent the Valentines weekend there and it was fab and also the Soul night in May,we were up dancing for at least 2 and half hours and had a great time. For the money you pay which includes a 5 course meal with wine and the rest of your food, entertainment and accomodation what more do you want? Try getting all that at a hotel anywhere and it would cost you at least treble. Dont be such stuffed shirts, enjoy whats on offer. Ok the bungalows are a bit dated,but they are clean, well equipped and the beds very comfortable with snow white sheets and duvets. Cant comment on the hotel rooms yet we are staying in that in November. We have upgraded to the Premier Deluxe so assume it will be very nice. All the staff were very friendly even the cleaners, nothing was too much trouble, you asked, they fetched. So if you want 5 star London hotel standards then go pay for it and see what you get for your money...a room and a very overpriced poncy meal. Potters we are coming back !!!

I'm writing to thank Buzby for all his hard work and effort he put in to makeit a very enjoyable stay. On Friday Evening 2nd July, we went to the Gallery lounge to continue with our night after a very good show. The Gallery lounge was filling up and Buz was working really hard in getting the night going. He changed the tracks from modern to 70's, 80's etc. In the end he had the floor filled with some great sounds. He made it a very enjoyable night and all through the weekend was asking if all was ok, day and night. A great asset to your team. Thank you. We have been coming back on numerous occasions and always recommend to friends. Ali, who was on duty in the Black Rock rest on Sunday the 4th July was an excellent host. She took the time to explain how the restaurant was established and was very attentive. She displayed a passion for her job, which is not always evident today. I have recommended friends to vsit your resort to definately try the Black Rock experience, it was excellent food and excellent service. Well done Ali.

Embarrasment, Exhilheration and Total Entertainment

My 3rd time at potters, and once again i was gutted to have to leave. This time i was celebrating my 18th with 3 friends and could not have had a more memorable, relaxing or active time, never short of activities or food. The evening entertainment would not be the same without the wonders of Mark Brewer and Richard Beare (who carried me off stage!) Although a little embarassing, the night life equally matched the day time fun. Unlike other resorts, all the activities are inclusive in the price, which means you need just as long to recover from your holiday as you spent at potters, after taking advantage of them all. I would never change holiday destination, unless its to potters cyprus, and so i would recommend strongly Potters to all ages both young and not so young.

5 star holiday, fantastic weekend, the ages in our group ranged from 8 to 70 and there was always something for all of us to do despite the weather not being great. Entertainment, hotel, facilities, food were all fantastic! Cant wait to go back again

It is the best and there is no-where else like it

I have been to potters in the past with my parents and my children for 3 years and this year I went it alone with the children (first holiday on my own with them!) and yet another year it was fabulous, if there is something they want to do and there are alot of people there, you can just go back to it another time, in the meantime they can get rackets to play badminton, short tennis, bats for table tennis, something going on in the sports hall. The staff are amazing, if they notice little ones looking in at something going on they will welcome them in and get them involved, if they need thier mum and dad with them it isn't a problem, nothing is too much trouble with the staff, they listen, they have time for you and they make the holiday so relaxing.

We always book a table upstairs in the restaurant and we always get one! Our waiter this year was fabulous, he obviously took a mental note of what we have to drink, and we went to breakfast with orange juices ready on the table for the children, just said to me "tea", service was impeccable! Food just speaks for itself, I don't need to say more, we are fussy and have a nut allergy and gluten allergy within the 3 of us and the staff fell over themselves backwards to help us, the quality and variety of food cannot be faulted.

My parents go to Potters 3 or 4 times a year, I just can't wait to get back there next year, it is the best and there is no-where else like it..I would like to add more but dont want to harp on too much about the place!!!!!!!!

No Complaints

From the moment we arrived on the Friday evening, loaded with the baggage of a week at work; to the time we left on Sunday afternoon minus our tears of mirth we could not have been treated any better! The warmth of the welcome at reception was just what we needed! The receptionist may have been met with a work weary and travel tired pair, but her enthusiasm won the day and set the scene with regard to the attitude with all the staff: wonderful. We had rooms in the hotel and they were spacious, clean and we found the bed very comfortable. We thought the up-grade was certainly worth the extra and would consider up-grading to the penthouse when we return (and we will)! Now to the all important subject of food! The first thing that we enjoyed was the welcome by our waiter Daniel. He came over happy and hit the right balance with our party. Actually I think he hit the right balance with all the tables he was serving….. he had that knack! The new summer menu was in operation and whilst I cannot comment or compare the food with the other reviews, our table and none of the tables around us had any trouble in eating the food that was served. Nothing was sent back or not consumed! The choice at each meal was comprehensive and you could have as much as you liked! Well done Potters. The weekend turned out to be wet with an on-shore wind. This ensured that most of our time was spent indoors! This was a good thing as we were royally entertained and special mention must be made of Mark Brewer and Richard Beare! With this pair in the room you could not fail to have a great time. If you don’t want to contract laughter lines then stay away. We would return to Potters just to see these guys: when you then add all the other entertainment that we saw to the mix, this was really a fabulous weekend. Is this value for money……… you bet it is. We have frequently spent more on one night in London; often been disappointed and have never returned home as relaxed. Our friends all felt the same.

Diversity were Out of this world

I have been to potters a couple of times, and i came home today from watching the amazing show last night with diversity; who were out of this world, I am now there biggest fan. And also mark brewer's team's olympic swimming act was so funny, it had everyone laughing, as mark never fails to do, when he said he had grown up and wouldnt use the watergun i was shocked then it came out and thats the mark i remembered, and he always gets everyone to join in. my nan and granddad have been going there since they were about 14 and they are now in there late 60's and still recomend it 100%. The food is delicious, and a nice range to eat, as although my brother is really picky with food theres always something he will eat. I lovee going here around christmas and new year because everyone joins in dancing and singing and there is a god atmosphere. I cant think of anything bad to say about it. You cant get better accommodation, food and entertaiment. I would defently reccomend it to anyone.

Fantastic Family Weekend

Just come back from a long weekend with 13 family members, ages 6 months to 80. We had the best weekend ever there was something to do for everyone. Only down side is that we now need another break to get over the amount of food we ate and the amount of fun we had! My grandad was celebrating his 80th and the staff really did make a fuss of him. I cant wait to go back next year.

This was my 10th visit to Potters and it just keeps getting better every time. Mark Brewer was as funny as ever and the Activity Staff - Rob especially were helpful and fun to be with. My only wish would be that some activities were better structured as shooting and archery were so busy it took a long time to get a go, and then you felt like you had to participate quickly and move on. Would be great to have deisgnated slots to prevent this. Otherwise, we had a brilliant time and will be back again next year :-)
