Exercise and Dance Weekends stand alone when it comes to fitness breaks; appealing to both beginners and fitness enthusiasts alike with a variety of classes aimed at all levels.

You can set the pace of your weekend, selecting classes ranging from Pilates, Urban Funk, Salsa and Pole Fusion to Aerobics, Yoga, Cabaret, Tap and Argentine Tango, to name just a few.

We are very lucky to have a diverse range of excellent professionals supporting Potters on Exercise and Dance Weekends, headed up by Spencer McCormack and Kathy Buller: two very hard working and well respected fitness experts who are working closely with us to ensure that you get the most out of your Exercise and Dance Weekend.

Instructors

Kathy BullerKathy Buller

Kathy has been teaching in the fitness industry since 1988, and has a diverse range of experience and qualifications from Fitness Tutor to Personal Trainer, from teaching Sport Specific Circuits to Hip Hop. Since 2003 Kathy has been strongly involved in developing Pole Dancing Fitness across the UK, and opened one of Norfolk's first Pole Dancing Schools - Pole Fusion. In 2009 Kathy also developed her Pole Fitness career by going to Paris to Judge the Finals of Miss Pole Dance France. Kathy is also a happily married lady and very proud mum of two. Her fitness philosophy is that fitness should be fun and therefore you should do something that challenges you and makes you smile at least once every day, this way you will overcome your fears and, live your life to the fullest.

 

Cathy Cook

Cathy is a retired Bluebell Girl who ran away to Paris when she was 18 and travelled the world dancing for 5 years. That was hundreds of years ago when god was young. She has been teaching dance and fitness for 30 years, choreographing shows, cabarets and panto's. Married with 3 children she now works at the local hospital as a therapy assistant as well as practising as a reflexologist and teaching whilst also still disrupting the back row of local amateur shows!.

 

Nick EsserNick Esser

International Personal Trainer Nick is now in his 14th year in the Fitness Industry. Starting from the bottom and now at the top of his field Nick presents numerous classes in the Norfolk/Suffolk area. Specialities include BTS Combat, Attack, Pump and RPM as well as Freestyle Spin. As well as in-club Personal Training Nick now conducts new "Virtual Personal Training" sessions. Nick takes part in endurance running events and National Level Cycling Competitions.

 

Sarah McMeekinSarah McMeekin

Sarah is an aerobics and pilates instructor as well as a full-time primary school teacher. She decided  to combine her interest in exercise and teaching nearly three years ago and she hasn't looked back. Today Sarah teaches a mix of aerobics and pilates classes locally and she admits she loves every minute of it!

 

 

Steve KennedySteve Kennedy

Steve has many qualifications to his name MIDTA MUKAPTD MGPTD MBDM Equity. He is a professional Dance Teacher and Ex Professional Actor/Dancer. Steve runs his own company Salsa Alegria, Alegria meaning happiness/joy and teaches a range of dances including the Salsa & Bachata Rueda to name but two, throughout Norfolk/ Suffolk and Nationwide.

 

Robyn EdwardsRobyn Edwards

Robyn has been working in the fitness industry for 7 years starting as a lifeguard and progressing through to attaining a Higher National Diploma in Sport Health and Exercise at Bannantyne's Lowestoft as dance studio coordinator before relocating to Bannantyne's at Norwich as senior fitness advisor. Robyn teaches a w ide variety of classes such as BTS Body Combat & Pump, Aqua Fit, Fitness Pilates and Spinning . Robyn has a passion for teaching and enjoys motivating and inspiring others by leading by example in her exercise classes.

 

Max DawsonMax Dawson

Max has been teaching squash in the local area since 1993. He became a full time coach in 2002 passing his Advanced Level 3 coaching award in 2001. He has been playing the game since the age of 14. He qualified from university as a Graphic Designer but soon realised that his passion was within squash. He now coaches here at Potters Leisure Resort, Bannatyne's Health Club Norwich and Beccles Sport Centre whilst also working at local Primary and Private Schools. He is currently the Norfolk Boys Under 17 Squash Coach and coaches all ages from 5 through to 65 plus, coaching complete beginners to county players. He believes that squash is a great sport that can be enjoyed at all levels. Max is also a qualified Football and Badminton coach but with his hectic life only currently works within the squash field. Max enjoys his work here at Potters having introduced many adults to the game over the last 6 years.

 

Paula KnapmannPaula Knapman

Paula trained professionally for 5 years at the Elmhurst Ballet School which included 3 years full time on a musical theatre course. During this time she took principal roles in West Side Story, The Sound of Music and Sweet Charity as well as performing in numerous pantomimes and summer productions. Her professional career began touring Japan followed by 2 consecutive years in summer season as dance captain whereby Paula appeared in various shows at the Grand Plaza Hotel in the West End. Other credits include Carmen at Wembley Arena, Casper the Musical UK Tour and The Shaftesbury Theatre in the West End. Paula is an established choreographer and teacher, holding numerous teaching qualifications ( ISTD, IDTA and BATD ). She has taught dance worldwide and currently teaches GCSE dance at a local sports specialist college whilst also being the resident choreographer for the Potters Theatre Company since 2001 and more recently setting up and running the Potters Theatre School.

Adrian Goodfellow

Adrian enjoyed a 20 year long career in show business, appearing in the musicals 'Cats' and 'Chicago' in the West End and 'Fosse' on it's first international tour. Also he performed in many large Cabaret venues around the world including The Sheraton Walker Hill in Seoul and Conrad Jupiter's Casino on the Gold Coast of Australia.
Since retiring in 1996 he has worked as a dance teacher and Personal Trainer in fitness and the stott pilates method on all those weird looking machines! He is currently based in London working in gyms and pilates studios in E Dulwich, Richmond and South Kensington.

Nathan Gray

The founder of Samballa Yoga & Holistic Health, Nathan has been practising Yoga since he was 19 and teaching Yoga since 2001. Nathan is a fully qualified and accredited Yoga Teacher with the International Yoga Alliance at the highest level, having attended multiple Yoga Teacher Trainings in a variety of Yoga disciplines. This training, with some of the worlds leading Yoga Teachers, combined with training as an Holistic Therapist specialising in Ayurveda, the sister science to Yoga, along with many years experience teaching in Norfolk, England, as well as India and a number of countries in Europe has enabled Nathan to gain a vast amount of knowledge and experience in this field, working with a wide variety of students at all levels.
