Jack and Tracey Dean (father and daughter) began as a duo covering music from jazz and swing through to pop standards. Their love of up-tempo country music drew them to the emerging American line dance scene and in 1995 they teamed up with ballroom and country & western trained instructor Charles Richman to form the JD's Line Dance Saloon. JD's unique blend of live music and instruction with Tracey Dean as DJ ensured the floor was full with dancers of all standards with the emphasis firmly on entertainment and fun.
JD's quickly became one of the biggest line dance clubs in the country and joined by instructor Scottish Jan, the team appeared at festivals and national arenas including Newcastle and Birmingham.
In 1996 JD's Dance Saloon joined Potters Leisure Hotel to offer their first weekend line dance break. JD's Dance Saloon returns in May 2012 for their 16th consecutive year and this promises to be special with a Saturday night 1920's theme line up.
The weekend is a must for experienced and first time line dancers alike, with a full programme of instruction for all levels and dancing on the superb all wood floor each evening. For those absolute beginners we have a special fun session to get you started. Why not join Jack and his Team in May 2012 and see for yourself why guests return year after year.
