Since he was a teenager Daniel has been singing on the Irish country music scene and the icon has sold over ten million records and is renowned for being one of the nicest men in music, earning him a legion of passionate fans. He is renowned for being close to his fans and holds a meet and greet session after most shows. He even used to host a massive tea party for his fans outside his home every year!

O'Donnell's first chart hit single in the UK was in 1992 with I Just Want to Dance With You and this led to his first-ever appearance on Top of the Pops. In 2012 he became the first artist to have a different album in the British charts every year for 25 consecutive years. Daniel has now reached the UK Artist Albums Chart with 38 albums and has charted 18 albums in the Top 20 of the U.S. Billboard’s World Music Album Chart.

Some of his best-loved hits include Give a Little Love, Whatever Happened to Old Fashioned Love, Make the World Go Away, I Need You, The Magic Is There, Secret Love, Danny Boy, Footsteps, Save the Last Dance for Me, and I Just Want to Dance With You.

And after more than 30 years in the spotlight as an engaging entertainer, he is still in love with performing and entertains audiences the world over with his unique, life affirming shows of music, song and laughter. Daniel's remarkable career has moved on to a new level with his success as a TV presenter and in 2015 he appeared on Strictly Come Dancing and was eliminated in week four.

The Irish singer, television presenter and philanthropist has even been presented with a humanitarian award for his charity work. After winning many awards in his career, Daniel says that the award he holds dearest is the ‘Donegal Person of the Year’ because he loves Donegal more than anywhere else in the world. Another entertainment award that he is proud of is multiple winner of the ‘Irish Entertainer of the Year’.

A Daniel O'Donnell Visitors' Centre was opened in Dungloe in May 2012, which displays his gold discs, awards and wedding suit.
