Potters Resort scoops ‘Best Holiday Park for Groups’ Award

We’re thrilled to announce yet another award for Potters Resort, following the Group Travel Awards held recently in London.

These prestigious annual awards, now in their 23rd year, are organised and presented by Group Travel Organiser Magazine, the UK’s first and leading publication exclusively addressing the needs of group travel organisers, and published for nearly 30 years.

The event this year was held at London’s Park Plaza Riverbank Hotel on Friday 7th June 2019 and hosted by BAFTA award-winning television presenter, Michaela Strachan alongside Landor Publications’ Partnership & Product Director, Sarah Jeffery.

There were 26 awards on the night, where nominees and eventual winners were voted for by readers of Group Travel Organiser Magazine and Group Travel Grapevine.

Potters Resort were nominated by readers for the ‘Best Holiday Park for Groups’ Award, alongside five other fantastic nominees from across the UK. Having won the award on various occasions in recent years, and as recently as 2018, one thing we had not yet achieved was to retain the award in successive years.

But that all changed last weekend!

Michaela and Sarah presented the 2019 Award for ‘Best Holiday Park for Groups’ alongside Geoff Holt, Sales Manager at Isle of Wight Tours and category sponsor, to a delighted Laura Ashling, Commercial Sales Team Leader and Daniel Pocock, Training & Group Sales Deputy Team Leader, in front of over 300 guests and industry peers on the night.

“It’s sometimes easy to forget that in the 12 to 18 months before their arrival, our Group & Commercial Sales Team put in an extraordinary amount of work to build amazing relationships with our organisers and coach operators, and to ensure everything exceeds expectations when those groups and coaches arrive on Resort.

"We work with around 400 organisers, who are responsible for bringing over 25,000 guests to Potters every year. So to know it is those organisers who have voted us as the Best Holiday Park for Groups is really special.”

As well as working with organisers and operators throughout the year, our 15-strong Group & Commercial Sales Team also look after many of our themed breaks such as Dancing, Bowls, Bridge and Big Bands as well as our Potters Abroad Festival Holidays at the Athena Beach Hotel in Paphos, Cyprus. We’re not sure how they fit it all in!

2019 has already been an amazing year for Potters Resort and this award quickly follows on the heels of winning ‘Best Staff Training’ at the Norfolk & Suffolk Tourism Awards as well as being inducted into TripAdvisor’s 2019 Hall of Fame for the sixth year in a row.

In January, Potters Resort also retained its 5 Star Holiday Village status for the 16th successive year.
