Number 12 seed Les Gillett kept his World Indoor Singles aspirations alive when he triumphed over five time champion and WBT ranked number 3 Paul Foster MBE earlier this afternoon.

Singles were scored on each on the nine ends of the first set, with Gillett edging the early advantage 5-4.

In the second though Foster shot out of the traps only dropping two ends to take the set 9-2 and push the match to a best of three end tie break.

However the first two ends went the Englishman’s way and he took his place in the last eight and will meet Tourcard Replacement player Scott Edwards in the second match of the day on Friday afternoon.
