Thursday 5th December 2019 saw us turn the spotlight on the restaurant team as we celebrated Potters Waiters Day 2019, recognising the achievements of a team who greet our guests every day with a smile and serve them their delicious meals. It is the front of house team who are the main contact between our guests and the kitchen, taking orders, delivering food and drink, and ensuring that our guests leave the restaurant happy. Of course, they also get to know guests and create a friendly atmosphere.
The front of house team started their day being served a tasty breakfast of pastries and bacon rolls by the restaurant management team to provide fuel ahead of their busy day. After breakfast, Barry Franklin, who was dressed as an elf, gave all the team a balloon to pop to reveal if they were a winner. There were 10 prizes up for grabs, including Amazon vouchers, prosecco and a Sunday Carvery voucher.
The team then got split into two teams to do either a treasure hunt or a fun bowls session with Greg Harlow, before managers from across the Resort supported the team with lunch service.
The afternoon saw 24 members of the restaurant team take part in a Waiters Day Festive Race in the Small Sports Hall. The team were split into three and raced to build and then decorate a Christmas tree with lights, beads and baubles. Buzby, dressed as an elf, hosted the race and created the laughs, as a packed room was filled by guests cheering on their waiters. After the race, the team enjoyed a fun quiz in the Atlas Theatre, followed by drinks and pizza.
Great fun was had by all and a massive thank you to all the restaurant team for their hard work, commitment, and friendly and positive attitude.
