Michael Stepney first broke into the top 16 of the World Bowls Tour Rankings in 2018, thanks largely to a brilliant run to the final at the 2017 Scottish International Open despite entry to the tournament as a wildcard.
A successful skip at national level with a host of Scottish titles, he was also British Isles indoor singles champion in 2010 and enjoys respect among the World Bowls Tour players as a tough and capable opponent.
He first made his mark on the Tour by finishing runner-up in the World Indoor Pairs in 2011 alongside Andrew Barker, only losing out to countrymen Paul Foster and Alex Marshall in a tie-break.
