Wayne Wilgress

Wayne is the newest member of the World’s Top sixteen after a fantastic run at the World Championships in recent seasons having progressed as a qualifier to take his place in any event.

In 2018 he defeated former champions Stewart Anderson and Greg Harlow in a run to the Semi Finals; in 2021 he was forced to withdraw from the event at the Quarter Final stage as a result of contracting Covid-19; but he came back event stronger in 2022 and again reached the Semi Final only to lose out in a fantastic match against Paul Foster.

His no hold barred style, celebration of successful bowls and his well renowned travelling support means he is a difficult player for anyone to face and is never dull to watch!
